After many months of organisation, our Wine and Roses Expo was a great success and a wonderful weekend. The cellar door was filled with wonderful aromas of roses, cooking, wine and freshly ground coffee. The winery has never looked so colourful with the large displays of roses, artwork by local artists – Geoff and Heather Lock, Lorraine Fromm and Alex Wakefield and the many displays by entrants in our wine and roses competitions.
A huge thank you to Bruce and Simon from YorKreation Garden Centre, who were our partners in this event.
We must also acknowledge the following people:
Minlaton Lions Club for their steak sandwiches, sausage sizzle and fruit salad and icecream
St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Maitland for their wonderful homemade pasties and scones
Maitland Progress Association for the coffee, tea and muffins

Keryl for all the wonderful face painting
Jayne from Jayne’s Country Classics for her elegant fashion parade Saturday night and her models, Anthony, Tyson, Evan, Jess, Nadine and Michelle
Tamarisque who played music at the dinner the music was beautiful, a very talented family
A special thank you to our guest speakers for the weekend including:
Simon Young for his interesting sessions on wine appreciation and wine tasting
Julie Jackson a rose grower
Caroline Bonnett who held cooking demonstrations and who also catered for our Formal Dinner on the Saturday night – the food was a feast for our senses!
Nic Bambacus who gave floral demonstrations
Walter Duncan who kept us entertained with his wit and enthusiasm for roses
Sophie Thomson who was also our special guest speaker for the Formal Dinner. Her knowledge, passion and love of gardening could be listened to for hours.
We would also like to thank our staff for their tireless effort before, during and after the expo, and a special thank you to our helpers over the weekend, Karen, Cheryl, Jess, Lauren, Luke and Tim.
