Sunday the 4th July was our annual Gourmet Day and what a wonderful day it was. The weather was perfect and this encouraged our biggest attendance yet. We had 680 people walk through our doors.
We had band ‘Little Black Dress’ playing all day with music for all ages. We had gourmet food for sale including, fresh Oysters and Prawns, Gourmet Sausages, Mini Yiros and for sweet tooths Cheesecakes and Cupcakes.
All our wines were on show including our 2010 vintage and our 2008 Shiraz which was officially released. Our winery shed was decorated with art displays that could be purchased on the day from Heather and Geoff Lock, Alex Wakefield, Simon Waters and Bob Landt, all Yorke Peninsula Artists. Also available were Olive Oil products from White Flint Olive Oil of Maitland and Alpaca products and prints by Alpacas’ Chaparral.
Our day included a Fashion Parade by Jayne’s Country Classics of Maitland for Ladies and Men’s Fashions, including garment bags and scarves. Our Winemaker explained the fine quality of our new releases including our 2008 Shiraz, 2010 Viogscato, 2010 Chardonnay, 2010 Viognier and 2010 Rosé. We auctioned off our first dozen of ‘Barley Stacks 2008 Shiraz’ and raised $2000 with all proceeds going towards the CYP Airstrip fund.
Congratulations to our lucky door prize winner Marty who won a Port Victoria Fishing charter and a mixed case of wine of his choice with the prize being worth over $600.
A big thank you to our helpers on the day – Jo, Jess, Bec, Sarah, Lauren, Janet and the two Karen's for volunteering their time to sell tickets at the front door and work behind the bar for the day. Also a special thank you to our models Jess, Matt, Evan, Linda, Jo, Darren, Julianne and Rob who looked fabulous in Jayne’s Country Classics outfits.
Have a look at our photo gallery to see all the photos of the day.
